The D.A.R.E. program is a proactive approach that will educate kids about how the dangers and negative effects of drugs can be to their lives before they get started.
Sgt. Kevin Bishop and Sgt. Kirk Sanders both attended a two week core curriculum training in 1990. The D.A.R.E. program kicked off in the fall of 1990. Both Sgt. Bishop and Sgt. Sanders have touched the lives of many of the children in our community in an effort to educate our kids about the temptations and peer pressures they will have to face as they grow. of
Sgt. Bishop and Sgt. Sanders along with the Southwick Police Department strongly believe in the importance of this program. Because of State budget restraints, Southwick is one of the few communities that still have a D.A.R.E. program. We are able to keep this program up and running through donations and fund raisers.
It is our goal at the Southwick Police Department to keep our children drug and alcohol free and, to keep them in school to help them achieve their goals in becoming respectful and successful members of society.
